How do we prepare for the return of Jesus Christ?
This is the first of our top 25 studies. Our first topic is about being prepared for Christ’s return.
Most people have heard of Jesus Christ. History has confirmed that Christ, which means the anointed one, appeared on the earth roughly 2,000 plus years ago. Christ’s message was for us to acknowledge his Father in heaven, to bring the good news of a coming Kingdom that will bring peace and righteousness on the earth, to offer the promise of obtaining eternal life, to fulfill the prophecy of his death that forgives his followers of their sins, to bring the start of a new covenant, to announce that he will return to complete judgement day.
This message is still being preached today and the next studies in the top 25 will help you understand this message more completely.
Our salvation is getting ever closer, no matter when it happens, whether we witness Christ’s return while we are alive or not. Live life like we are going to see it happen, because if we die (rest) before Christ returns, then we wait for the day of our resurrection as prophesied in Daniel 12:1-2. We want to wake up to everlasting life rather than everlasting shame and contempt. Let us live righteously now so that we may enter that eternal love and peace that is promised to us through Jesus Christ. If we do not prepare, we could miss out on that promise.
The return of Christ will affect everyone because all people living will observe the geopolitical events and wars that will occur on the earth. With spiritual warfare, God gives us all the armor we need through Jesus Christ, and if our armor is missing, then how can we go to war spiritually if we have no protection? That is why it is so important to prepare ourselves with the whole armor of God.
The Bible provides us with informational clues to be aware of as that day approaches. Do we know exactly when Christ’s return will happen? No, but for anyone waiting for that day, one of the most important things a person can do is prepare themselves by trying to live a life in accordance with the true teachings recorded in the Bible. Whether Christ’s return occurs in our lifetime or not, each day is one day closer and more urgent to learn about that approaching day.

Ephesians 6:10-20

To prepare for Christ’s return, now is the time to align our behaviors with righteousness.
2 Timothy 3:1-5, 13-17
Bad things happen in this world. Nothing is restrained from the imagination of humans in our present time. Christ’s return happens when the world is at its worst. Understanding scriptures and doing them prepares us for Christ’s return.
2 Peter 3:1-14
Peter makes a powerful statement in his letter and tells us to remember what we have been taught, and his words motivate and inspire us. Certain events will happen in the days leading up to Christ’s return. We should practice righteous behavior now so that we can be without spot and blameless when Christ returns.
John 1:41-45
At the time of Christ’s first coming when he became flesh and lived on the earth, Israelites were watching and preparing themselves for that event. Just as these Israelites watched, we too should watch for his return.

The scripture states that no one knows the day when Christ returns. Therefore, we must watch and be prepared for his return.
