Almighty God has been keeping a record. It is a book of names, a detailed list of all those who are to receive eternal life. Many books have been written about God's word, and many scholars have analyzed the Bible, but the Book of Life is the most important book. The book of life is not a physical book. Those people whose names are found written in the book of life will live forever. Actions committed by each individual are recorded; these will be brought into remembrance and used at a final judgment day. Everyone who has lived will be judged according to what is recorded in “the books.” Having your name written in the book of life ensures your entrance into Almighty God's righteous kingdom.

The Book of Life

Exodus 32:31-33  Moses knew of the existence of Jehovah's book of life, and realized a person's name could be removed (blotted out) from it.

Psalms 69:27-28  It is important to remain faithful to the one true God. Not doing so could result in one's name being removed from God's book of life.

Daniel 12:1-2  All of the dead will be raised for judgment, and some of them will receive everlasting life.

Malachi 3:16-18  Those who fear Almighty God Jehovah, calling on His name and serving Him, will be found written in the book of remembrance.

Revelation 13:4-9  A person whose name is not in the book of life will serve the beast.

Revelation 20:11-15  Many books are opened, one of them being the Book of Life. The dead are judged according to their works. Those not found written in the Book of Life will be thrown into the lake of fire.

The suggestion that every innocent little baby is already a sinner on day one has got to be the worst crap I have ever heard. Buty then the guillible and weak will believe anything

I agree that it does not appear scriptural to say every aborted kid is destined to "hell" or judged to die as one with the wicked.

Instead of saying "it is c*&p" why not prove it out with what the Word of God says?

Here are a few Biblical scriptures showing children who have not reached the age of understanding have a chance at being in the Kingdom of God.

Mark 10:13-16
And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them. But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.

Ezekiel 18:20
The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

1 Corinthians 7:14
For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.

Many religious organizations will baptize infants. However, Matthew 28:19 says to teach and then baptize. This means a person must reach an age of understanding before they can take on the responsibilty of learning.

Is it not placing judgment on a soul (individual) to say they will not enter the Kingdom of God, even to say that about infants? We should let the judgment belong to Christ and His Father. And what we have learned about them is that their judgment is righteous and it only makes sense that all individuals get a chance to decide if they want to worship Christ and His Father or not.

To the person who says that all babies are saved until the time they can comprehend what Jesus did for us is plain wrong. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God even babies. Now when we look at sin it can be actual or imputed. Actual sin is when we defy or disobey God. Imputed sin is that sinful nature which all men have inherited from our fallen forefather Adam. All have inherited the sin nature and are destine for hell even little cute babies, sad to say. The babies that die at birth where people who were would have rejected Jesus whether or not they were permitted to grow old or not. God is just no matter how we humans want to see it.

These children were not written into the Lambs Book of Life and hence their early death is permitted.

The question was asked, what does Chris Tomlin mean in his song "I Will Rise?" I don't know what he means any more than I know what hundreds of other songwriters have written about in their music. It could be that he is singing about his own personal perception of what he thinks will happen when he is raised back to life. When Chris Tomlin thinks this will happen, I don't know. The most important thing to question here is what God's word, the Holy Bible, has to say about death & resurrection, rather than wondering what is meant by the song lyrics of one man.

The scriptures have many references that speak about the time coming up when the resurrection will happen, for both those who will be accounted righteous to get to live forever, as well as those who don't. We can determine from the scriptures that Christ is the only one so far to have been raised to eternal life from the dead. Colossians 1:18,19 refers to Jesus as the firstborn from the dead and Acts 2:29 states that even David is still dead and buried.

If you haven't had a chance to read it yet, it might be helpful to refer to the Special Interest/News section of our website and read the information on "The Truth about Death & Hell." There are many more scriptures on this subject. Will those who are raised back to life hear a literal voice when that time comes? Revelation 11:11-12 speaks about the time upcoming when some of God's people will hear a voice when they are raised back to life. 1 Thessalonians 4:16 also talks about Christ coming with a shout and with the voice of the archangel at the point when some others are resurrected. Just exactly how it will be accomplished remains to be seen--or more accurately--heard.

It is interesting to speculate how it might be, but the most important thing seems to be that we try our hardest to do what we should now in order to be a part of those who have their names written in the Book of Life and will be raised back to eternal life when the time comes. Then we will have that firsthand chance to experience how it will take place! I hope this helps.

Hello.
In the song, "I Will Rise" by Chris Tomlin he sings about Jesus calling my name and I will rise. What
does he mean? If we are a born again believer, what is the sequence of events after death? Is there a roll call? Is our name called from the Book of Life?

I believe that once saved always saved is scriptural. No it is not a ticket to sin ,but if you are truly saved you will want to follow his laws. I believe that is the question here. The works you do on earth are only for his glory not for your salvation. Read Eph. 2:8-9 For by grace are you saved thou faith it is the gift of God lest any may should boast. So in other words if you are truly saved you can not lose your salvation.

If it was not possible to be blotted out of the book of life, God would not have warned us about it. But He does.

We are all born into sin. In order to be saved, each of us must endure to our end. "But the one who endures to the end, he shall be saved." (Matthew 24:13, Mark 13:13)

I would like to say a few things on this subject..... Although we are born in sin ,a newborn has committed no sin therefore they are in the book of life.... until the age of accountability. They are innocent. If you do not agree then I guess that means all babies go to hell.(in your opinion)Now once a child knows they are sinning I believe their name can be blotted HOWEVER I believe that once a person accepts Christ as their Savior they are forever in the book of life. "...Neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father who gave them me, is greater than all, and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and the Father are One."
John 10:28-30

Now... no man means NO MAN not even yourself ! Should we continue in sin after knowing that? God forbid! People lets remember our God is not some deity sitting on a heavenly throne waiting to bashing you in the head for everything you do wrong! He is quick to forgive. I wish I had hours to break it all down but I dont... PLEASE research this for yourself and ask the Holy spirit to lead you to understanding.Just remember NO MAN (including yourself) can pluck you from HIS HANDS! God Bless and Take Care
